Far North Queensland, Australia

Breathtaking shades of blue at Whitehaven Beach, Whitsunday Islands

2020 and 2021 saw us exploring far more local destinations due to COVID. Luckily living in Queensland, we have such beautiful places a short flight away. No shortage of painting inspiration here. Next time I need to work out what to paint, I can just look at this gallery!

One highlight was snorkeling on a reef in Cairns with not one tourist in sight - just my husband and I and visiting some deserted islands around Bedarra Island (near Mission Beach) and not seeing a single man made thing all day - just the small tinny and our lunch basket. These images are from around Bedarra Island and Cairns, Hamilton Island and the Whitsundays.
