My painting style can be described as energy or essence art - evoking a feeling or connection beyond the physical form with emphasis on nature and the sacred. My art is inspired by my deep love and connection to plants and flowers and Australian nature environments that are nurturing for the human soul. My painting has been influenced by my career as a Clinical Psychologist and training as a Psychedelic Assisted Therapist. In the therapy space I mostly work as a “therapist’s therapist” helping those working in the helping professions to find support and deep growth. I offer half and full day retreats based from Bee Cottage - a beautiful spot overlooking the hills on my property.
I have had a garden since a very young age, always deeply connecting to flowers and animals.
I love to discover and create art that resonates and draws the viewer in, finding an emotion or resonance that they can relate to on a deeper level. I primarily paint in beautiful rich oil paint, often on an abstract acrylic beginning and my paintings are energetic in form - connecting to the soul of the plant and embodying that essence. My painting style was developed after a life changing spiritual experience several years ago - I never imagined it would become such a treasured part of my life!
My home studio and therapy space are in the beautiful rolling hills of Witta, just near Maleny on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Studio visits most welcome by appointment. My other big project at the moment is creating my dream garden along with my husband Steve and in the future we hope to open this space up to be shared and enjoyed alongside my studio. You can also view my art at The Joy Collective in Maleny, Cooroy Butter Factory Gallery, Facebook and Instagram. I sell my art online and can arrange postage if you are unable to visit in person.
