King Island

Ultimate sauna with a view on King Island - isolated, wild and the biggest travel surprise of our COVID Australian adventures!

As part of a trip to Tasmania in February 2020 my husband Steve and I visited King Island - a short plane flight from Tasmania, in the middle of Bass straight between Tasmania and Victoria. We had found a really lovely house right on the beach that the owners had put some much love and care into creating, with wallabies around, a walk to the King Island cheese factory and complete isolation. This trip has inspired most of my artworks so far including the Nomenclature Abstract which began with the image top left below. King Island was wonderful and a complete surprise (though not to local’s living there I’m sure! :)
