Winter 2022 and Psychologist/Psychedelic Therapy Resources
It seems to have been such a cold winter so far (well for South East Queensland anyway!) and some days has been hard to paint downstairs in my studio as so cold. The local bush turkey has been working very hard at dragging all our garden mulch onto his now VERY towering nest (which unfortunately keeps covering up our waste water system much to the service guys chagrin). I have never seen such a hardworking animal.
So lots of fireplace stoking and a few firepits - much to the chicken’s delight as they seem to love the company in the yard!
I’ve been working on some large and small paintings inspired by the botanics of the season, including wattle, the bush and rainforest. Preview my in progress new works here. I am really enjoying using spike lavender oil as a solvent instead of the traditional solvents - it works beautifully with the oil paint and far less toxic. I’m going to do another post soon on my favourite oil colours and brands and some of my unusual studio inspiration items!
I’ve been spending quite a bit of time redoing my website including adding the option to purchase my work online. This transition time from psychology to art (though they will always be intertwined for me) is pretty much complete but I wanted to keep the linkages for those who are interested to all my best resources from over the years. So here they are:

Psychedelic Therapy information here - There is an enormous increase in public interest at the moment, particularly with the recent Netflix documentaries by Michael Pollan and I can only hope that Australia becomes more proactive in integrating this approach for its enormous potential for mental health improvement and to broaden collective wellbeing as a whole. It is truly life changing.
